Back in the Saddle...

The furniture is all moved, the tree is up, the star is leaning... all is well in my house.

the men hard at work. lol.

really? who thought this was funny? Ariel....

O Lat-pulldown, O Lat-pulldown,
How lovely are your handles...

Leaning Star and All.

Having a little too much fun with the lights.
"my humans are a little crazy"

The downtime (on purpose, this time) did me good. I'm back and raring to go :-)  My food prep is done... proteins are: tuna, shrimp, crab, grilled london broil, baked bbq chicken (clean bbq sauce), roasted bbq pork tenderloin, greek yogurt, cottage cheese, and protein powder.  Veggies - it's veggie galore in our house! Snow peas & tomatoes, zucchini, colored peppers, mushrooms, salad, spinach, cabbage, sweet potatoes, regular potatoes, asparagus.  Fruit: blackberries, apples, grapefruit, avocado, tomato, bananas. My oatmeal baggies were prepared (1 scoop protein powder, 1/2 cup dry oatmeal, 1 tsp cinnamon), and all the food was stored.

Bethany now joins me in my morning routine as I load up my cooler... she's gluten-free until we see the gastroenterologist in February. I have to keep a close eye on her to be sure she's getting enough protein, and not sneaking in any gluten. It's hard for her. Though we already eat a lot of GF foods, having to is a different beast. Then you add in the typical teenager's lifestyle - the pizza with friends, and such... she feels "different" and doesn't like it. It would be easier, I think, if we had an actual diagnosis to work with, but it is what it is, and we'll deal with it as best we can.

  1. Hi Chelle -- looks like you all were having a great time! Your meal prep, etc has helped keep me organized and stress free as far as sticking to eating clean for over a year and a half now. What cut of pork is that? From a butcher? It looks amazing. Also the cal-gym. Is that what it's called? Is there a specific web site where I can look at it for information and purchasing. Keep it tight! Thanks for all you do!

  2. Hi CarmenRenee! Thanks! :-)
The photo shown is the London Broil (beef), the little baggies are chicken breast and pork loin roast. I save some money by buying the pork loin (instead of tenderloin) and trim off the excess fat myself. It's super tender and lean - very tasty!! Did another one this week for my food prep. :-) The Cal-Gym - yep, that's the brand name of the one I have. It's an older model, but I've seen them on Craigslist - you might check there for similar ones. :-)
