Downtime

I got some unexpected downtime yesterday. Literally. I woke extremely ill, and as I tried to make my way back to bed, I passed out. This was the first of several black outs I was to experience throughout the day. Around 7am I finally gave up and called in sick. By late afternoon I was at last able to be upright and remain so. Bleh.

This morning I'm at about 60%. I'm hoping yesterday does not repeat. Today's food includes mega-doses of antioxidants. So if you look at my cooler and say, "hey, that's more than 1/2 cup of ____" the answer is: yes. Yes it is. Clearly my body is trying to tell me something. I am now listening. Lol. Blueberries, blackberries, grapefruit, and an apple - these are all in my cooler today. I've let myself become run-down, and probably haven't gotten enough sleep, water or food to maintain the demands... (shades of physician, heal thyself?). Yeesh. I know better. (visualize me smacking myself on the forehead).

Anyway, the lesson is... if you burn the candle at both ends, you will eventually run out of candle... and flame. That is not in my grand-scheme of things. It's time to re-prioritize.

Moving on... we are officially in December! Holy Cow! In honor of the holiday month, I have a giveaway! Woot! Friday's blog will explain all about it ;-) so be sure to check back!

In other news, the December cardio playlists are up on the blog: http://recipeforfitness.com/workout_music.html

The cooler page is updated: http://recipeforfitness.com/todays_cooler.html

And we are continuing to plug away at the other new pages (in our spare time, haha).

Now it's time to get back to work. :-)

Happy Thursday!

  2. Are you okay? I have been sick with an awful cold this week (from my 7 year old son). I hope you are better.

  3. I'm.... "meh". Still shaky on my pins, lol. Serves me right! I'm fueling up and hydrating, and attempting to get more sleep. Thanks :-)
