Killer workout, Food, and some gym-floor-musings...

Chest and Triceps are demolished :-) This morning, as we put me through my paces, I was listening to another client on the floor with her trainer. I was astonished to hear her say (more than once), "No, I won't do that" or "No, I'm done with that". When I mentioned it to Tab, she told me that she hears that kind of thing all the time, all trainers do. I was appalled. If I knew what was best for me and my body, I wouldn't need the expertise of a trainer, yes? Hence, telling the expert that he/she is mistaken (which in essence is what she was doing) seems like a waste of money and time. Seems to me, that's like going in for a pedicure and after one foot is done, saying, "No, I'm done now," and walking out.  Maybe that's just me. 

I can't imagine telling Tab, "No, I won't do that". Ha! I'd get my ass handed to me! I LOVE that Tab knows me and my body well enough to be able to tell when I've got that one-more in me, or when I really am done. I love being able to trust her to know that. It makes the training feel more natural for me, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

One of the things Tab said to me today, when I was struggling, was "Get your head out of this! Just do it!"  Seems a funny thing to say, but again, absolutely right. I was letting my head tell me what my body could/couldn't do. My mistake :-)   Same workout, later on, she had to tell me, "Get your head in the game!"... I was wandering, and my performance suffered. How excellent it is to have a coach who knows exactly where you're at, and what to say to move you!

We joke, but in my workouts it's definitely up to Tab when I'm done. Kind of a, "I'll let you know when you're done, and you're not done, so give me 5 more - ANYBODY can do 5 more!" ROFL. Know why that works so well? Ha, well, first because she knows me well enough to know what buttons to push. I hate being told anybody can do it, lol! Next, because she's the expert. She's the trainer/coach. She's got all the fancy letters after her name, and the experience & expertise to make them mean something. It's nice that the client felt she could assert herself with her trainer, but I'll stick with our system and let Tab call the shots. 

On to today's food. I NAILED my ratios! YES! Check out those pretty round numbers! Wooo!

Breakfast -  3 Zucchini Protein Muffin.
Snack: Protein shake w/1/4 cup raspberries
Lunch - 3 oz chicken breast with 1 cup
steamed asparagus, 1 oz mashed sweet potato.
Snack -  1 Chicken Loaf (see recipe page), 10 raw almonds
Dinner -  6 oz baked Swai  & 1/2 Tbs olive oil over 1 cup
steamed green beans
Pre-bed Snack -
Protein Ice Cream (I am so loving this!!).
