What Day Is It??? Melanie's Check-in...

We've officially completed 8 weeks of Melanie's Transformation Journey! In the first month, Melanie learned new habits, and that she could live without 5-Hour Energy drinks ;-) She also reached, and surpassed, the goals we set. In the second month, she continued to implement her new lifestyle and branched out into taking more control over her daily food life - planning her own meals, finding and tweaking recipes, working and working hard. And now - it's weigh in day. How'd she do??

Starting Weight, November 4: 176.6 lbs
Total Lost in Month One: 7.2 lbs
Month Two Starting Weight: 169.4 lbs

Week 1:  166.6 lbs
Week 2:  165.2 lbs
Week 3:  165 lbs
Week 4: 163.8 lbs.
Week 5: 164 lbs
Total Lost: 5.4 lbs

Melanie has lost a total of 12.6 lbs - through the toughest 'diet' time of the year! That deserves a pretty rambunctious round of applause!!!  Life doesn't always make things easy on us, and the holidays are particularly fraught with food temptations, crazy schedules, and too often an inclination to postpone workouts. Throughout the season, Melanie continued to make progress and ROCK.

Melanie's numbers slowed down as her life sped up this last month, but she didn't give up and she didn't let a few stumbles take her out of the race. As we enter Month Three, she's gunning for her next goal, and I don't know about you, but I'm certain she's going to hit it and ring that bell.

Because she's awesome like that. ;-)

As we skyped this week to talk about everything, Melanie admitted to feeling a bit "lost" this week. Out of her routine, not eating properly, not exercising - she's been in survival mode. And that's ok. Really, it is. The important thing is that she didn't derail, didn't walk away. She slowed down, that's all. That .2 lb gain from week 4 to week 5? That's just water - probably from higher sodium foods than she's used to. And it'll go away.

Tomorrow marks Melanie returning to routine, to plan. As she gets back to her healthful and mindful eating, drinking the water her body needs, and exercising, she'll kick that metabolism back to high burn and see results next week.

What about you? Has your pursuit of your goals slowed down? Are you still on the road or are you sitting beside it feeling lost? GET UP. GET BACK TO IT. YOU CAN DO IT!!! Even through a tumultuous and busy month, Melanie still lost 5.4 lbs!! That's victory!! You can have that victory, too! Don't put off getting back in the game... don't wait for tomorrow or next week. Start with your very next meal. There's no reason to delay, and every reason to jump on it! You deserve it.

If you're farther in your journey - there's a lot in there for you, too! I'm celebrating 5 years of maintaining my goal weight, and in the first chapter I had to stop and think, recognize that some of my former-fatty mentalities are still here. This is truly a wonderful resource, and I encourage you to pick it up.

The second resource is my downloadable meal plans. I've done everything for you except cook your food!
